Community Grants

Since 1965, the Almaden Valley Women's Club has been serving the needs of the Almaden Valley community and those of greater San Jose. We provide charitable financial assistance to local educational institutions, non-profit children's foundations, teen programs and community organizations. Funding varies from year to year depending upon the proceeds of our main fundraiser – the Almaden Valley Art and Wine Festival.

Educational institutions (elementary, middle and high schools) located in the 95118, 95120 or 95123 zip code areas.
Local non-profit organizations that are tax exempt under IRS 501(c)3

Identifies and serves a need that promotes the greatest impact to those it serves
Benefits the majority of the population it serves
Supplements an existing need that further enhances performance, availability and accessibility
Provides a cost effective project design

Note: Additional priority is given to applicants who volunteer at the Almaden Valley Art and Wine Festival

Funds available are dependent upon the proceeds from the annual Almaden Art and Wine Festival and vary from year to year.  
Only one grant per year may be awarded to an educational institution or non-profit organization.
Applicants may apply up to $2000 for a grant. Grant requests beyond the maximum of $2000 will not be considered.

Acceptable budget items may include supplies, books, materials or other things that will enhance the proposed project.  
Salaries for a new position or to supplement an existing position may not be used for these funds.

Community Grant Applications are accepted once a year during the period of October 1 – October 31st.  
Applications must be postmarked by October 31st to be reviewed for eligibility.
Applications are reviewed by the Funds Disbursement Committee in November.  
Award notifications are mailed to all grant recipients in early December.
